    Quite frankly, Into Autumn was one of the boring books I ve read in my life and I struggled even to make it through the introduction Mr Landgraf hinted and teased at a world falling apart, of chaos and looting, of the struggle to survive and then didn t tell that story Instead, we are given an over descriptive, minutely detailed journal about daily life without modern conveniences There s no pizzazz, no real tension or suspense, no action nothing to excite the reader s imagination The plodding pace and repetitive narrative had me drifting off and, while I usually love romance in my novels, it was out of place and weird in this story I think the problems with this novel stem from Mr Landgraf trying to make it too many things If he had narrowed his focus just a bit instead of throwing in as many genre elements as possible in hopes of appealing to the broadest audience, it might have been quite good There really was potential buried here the events leading up to it are quite feasible and survivalists are even now preparing for this outcome Time and again, history has shown what happens when people panic en masse and the looting and killing are not beyond the pale if something so catastrophic were to occur in the U.S This could have been a gripping, terrifying, thought provoking survival adventure, but if I wanted could , I d write the story myself The story alwo wasn t helped by the mundane and sort of hu...
