I grabbed this when it was free on and ended up reading it almost immediately My young daughter caught sight of the cover and said, read that one Well, who am I to ignore the dictates of a there year old In some respects I really enjoyed this story Kennedy has an interesting personality She s a recovering doormat, it you will The vampire apocalypse has really put her life and the people who had been in it in perspective for her A lot of the book is dedicated to this introspection And, while I respect the personal growth that resulted from it, she had the same thoughts and mental epiphanies over and over So, I found much of it repetitive It also severely cut into the action Enter Reeve Oh, wonderful, wonderful Reeve He is fabulous Maybe just a little too fabulous, since the reader never learns what makes him different than other vampires I also struggled with the fact that Kennedy appreciates his behaviour so very, very much when it is just basic courtesy Kennedy had been treated poorly by men She d let them control her and treat her as less than an equal She is subsequently amazed to meet a man who doesn t treat her this way That s great It really is But should we really be surprised and praise men for doing nothing than treating a woman as a mental equal I got the message being relayed I did But that s kind of a low standard to hold romantic partners to and getting excited over it feels a lot like making it something special a...

It s always exciting for me when I find a really good self published book The kind that goes under the radar but leaves a fantastic impression when you read it A true diamond in the rough. The Vampire Next Door was just that Surprisingly refreshing, fun, and compelling It s definitely worth the read whether you re a vampire fan or not. This is a little strange, but for me, the synopsis didn t match the feel of the book The cover however, fit perfectly Original, adorable, and hilarious Just like the lead character, Kennedy Okay, seriously, people The least you can do is spell your graffiti correctly KennedyI loved Kennedy s inner monologue Even better was when she s speak out loud to herself Her rambling may be hard for some people to follow, but I know quite a few people who think just like that and I ve no problem keeping up.Reeve didn t get as much time in the book as I would have hoped but his character provided a bit of mystery the rest of the story didn t have As for being the sexy vampire next door, yeah, definitely nailed that He s also a vampire Down, girl KennedyIt was a little sad that their romance didn t progress It s understandable that Kennedy is married thus complicating he...

First I want to say that I really like the cover of this book Its unique and funny cover lured me to read the book. So, The Vampire Next Door is a book about vampire apocalypse, but unlike any other books with similar theme, this time the heroine is not a teenager, and the story is quite short I could finished it in less than 24 hours sleeping included.Meet Kennedy, a 25 year old wife who not only try to survive the vampire apocalypse but also her husband s vampire...

I picked this e book up since I know the author, and had read some of her other works I was a bit leery, as the author tends towards romance writing I had read some things about the book, that it was a humor romance if anything or at least that is how I viewed it so I decided that I had better read it.The cover of the book is worth snickering over, especially once you have read the story The comic book look is nothing how the story goes, but I admit, it does sort of catch the eye That being said, I was into the story within a few pages of starting the book Having veered quite a bit from her previous series LADY OF TORYN , this delves into the paranormal urban fantasy, with a vampire pandemic striking the United States At the time of the attack, her husband and stepchildren, are across the country and looking like they won t be back Kennedy, our main character, is basically on her own to survive not being killed, or even worse, turned into a vampire.I don t know if the story line ideas were all one ...

You would think this story would be fairly easy to predict concerning all the romantic vamp books we see everyday but this one preferred a less used approach Firstly, it s not based either in secrecy or acceptance like most books seem to prefer nowadays Vamps do not live in secrecy next to humans They are not known and accepted either Instead they decided to show up, eat, kill or turn most humans and everything is going to hell Governments have fallen It s every man for himself Pretty bleak if you ask me But it s not all doom and gloom Our main character, Kennedy, despite all evidence in contrary actually manages to find love Slight problem Reeve is a vampire and she s human So the chances of him eating her Pretty damn high But he doesn t, he saves her instead from another vamp Amazingly enoughhe s actually sweet and human than most humans here and they form a growing friendship that later evolves into something For me Super cut...

Kennedy has survived the vampire pandemic in spite of a vengeful vampire ex of her husband s who she doesn t know is living or dead himself and ongoing struggles to find food, supplies, and avoiding the human and vampire rouges When she has a close call that could have ended badly she finds out her next door neighbor is a vampire who surprisingly saves her Vampires are suppose to be evil opportunistic beings so the fact that Reeve doesn t try to bite her is suspect And she ll have to decide if befriending a vampire outweighs the risks of fearing his true intentions A sweet feel good post apocalypse themed read that I enjoyed for the storyline and premise There s a mix of humor, adventure, innocent romance, and ...

I really loved this story Usually I don t like stories about the Apocalypse, where civilization has ended except for a few, as they are overly gory and just not realistic at all I ESPECIALLY don t like them if they involve vamps, cause well..I love vamps Enters Kennedy, who has managed to survive since it started 8 months prior She isn t the uncaring bloodthirsty heroine of the story, but someone who has done the things she has done to just survive I found myself really liking her and caring about her, and her trials and tribulations I love how she grows as a person throughout the book and comes into her own I love the introduction of Reeve who sounds totally HOT btw who is totally NOT what she expected and throws her for a loop She starts doubting what she s come to assume thru personal experiences over the past 8 months, and prior to that in her relationships ...

Loved it I really, really liked this book It was written in a chatty, sitting with a friend drinking coffee sort of way, and it made the main character, Kennedy, easy to relate to There s a misconception out there that people only want serious fiction, but who doesn t love to laugh I m not saying that this book was a laugh fest, but Kennedy definitely managed to find the humorous in some pretty bad situations The action scenes were very well written too a couple of times my heart really started racing and I caught myself flinching out of sympathy I wasn t sure about all of Kennedy s d...

Really loved this book I grabbed this book whilst it was free on and I m so pleased that I did.Kennedy is such a fun character and quite humorous at times but also shows a sensitive side that is quiet endearing, especially when she talks about her family and at times, the EX.I couldn t stop reading, I wanted to know about Cole and Eddie and then I was thinking Forget Eddie and Cole Reeve is right there I m...
